Denis St. Denis is the ultimate example of someone who is ‘safe’. Boring with no aspirations. The absolute vanilla master. Why, I’d imagine he’d consider holding hands to be the equivalence of marriage!

Am I the only one who can’t figure out what’s being placed in Patrick’s hand in the flashback? A … ballpoint pen clip? A broken-off zipper? (He does appear to be having a wardrobe malfunction.)
It would be a piece of currency, and his wardrobe malfunction is due to the family suddenly becoming poor and destitute because Jill couldn’t marry someone to help keep their status. 😀
